WBCT Information for the Remainder of 2020
Published on: July 5, 2020
Dear WBCT Supporter,
As you know, this year has been very unusual with all of the Covid 19 requirements and restrictions. WBCT has been anxiously waiting and hoping that we would be able to resume our shows for the remainder of the year. However, it has been decided that we will cancel the remaining shows of 2020 and move them into 2021. The restrictions that have been put on “live” entertainment facilities like theaters are very thorough for the safety of our audience members and cast, but because of the configuration of the Colleen Williams Theater where we perform, we would not be able to easily keep the social distancing requirements. The cast members in particular would not be in a safe environment with our small dressing rooms and close contact while acting on the stage. Elevator usage would be restricted, and many folks are not able to enter the theater by climbing the stairs.
We have decided that each Season Ticket holder will have their ticket extended through the 2021 Season. The 2021 Season will contain the three shows that you will not be able to see this year (“The Addams Family Musical”, “Almost, Maine”, and “Nana’s Naughty Knickers”) and will include a fourth show to round out the 2021 Season. This fourth show has not been chosen yet, but we will announce it as soon as we can. Presently we are working with the Publishing Companies to have our dates changed from 2020 to 2021, and as soon as we receive permission for this, we will announce the actual dates of each show.
WBCT is so thankful for your patience during this difficult year. We certainly hope that next year will be a better year so that we can get back to presenting live theater for you and all of our audience members. We hope you remain safe and well, and we look forward to seeing you next year. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
