"The Curious Savage" Opens on July 31st

Winder-Barrow Community Theatre is proud to announce the cast of the upcoming Main Stage production of “The Curious Savage” by John Patrick. This comedy takes place in the living room of The Cloisters. Mrs. Savage (played by Elinor Hasty) has been left ten million dollars by her husband and wants to make the best use of it in spite of the efforts of her grown-up stepchildren to get their hands on it. The children realize they can’t get hold of the money and commit her to a “sanatorium” hoping to bring her to her senses. She leads them on a merry chase before the end of the show. The play is being directed by Claire Guy who is Elinor’s former student.
The show opens on Friday, July 31st at 7:30 pm. Other performances include Saturday, August 1 at 7:30, Sunday, August 2 at 3:00, August 7 and 8 at 7:30 pm and closes on Sunday, August 9 at 3:00 pm. The venue is the Colleen O. Williams Theater at 105 E. Athens Street inside the Winder Cultural Arts Center in Winder.
Prices for tickets purchased in advance have been slashed so be sure to buy your ticket early. Adults are $12.50 in advance, and seniors/students/teachers are $10.00 in advance. Tickets purchased at the door will remain at $17.00 and $14.00. Tickets can be purchased by credit/debit card at Winder City Hall (770-867-3106) and with cash or check at Pam Veader’s State Farm Insurance Office at 41 S. Center Street in Winder (770-867-1679). Tickets purchased at the door are by cash and check only.
